Expressair Aviation, the parent company of MAAS Aviation, is formed in Ireland by Darragh Hall and Harry Ryan. The company begins pioneering aircraft painting as an outsourced service in Europe.1983

The Company establishes aircraft painting operations in Shannon, Ireland by re-purposing the AerRianta International hangars at Shannon Airport.1986

MAAS Aviation relocates its operations to Maastricht in the Netherlands, opening a purpose-built aircraft painting and refurbishment hangar at Maastricht Aachen Airport.1988

The Company expands its operations by partnering with GKN Aerospace Company Fokker in Woensdrecht, The Netherlands. MAAS Aviation’s aircraft painting capabilities perfectly complement GKN’s heavy maintenance activities.2009

MAAS Aviation begins an enduring partnership with Airbus, achieving the A320 Family Special Process Qualification for Exterior Aircraft Finishing and supporting A320 Family OEM painting at its Maastricht facility.2011

The company demonstrates its commitment to continual improvement and quality by certifying its operations to the ISO 9001 and AS/EN 9100 standards for Quality Management.2012

After winning a contract to design, build and operate a single-aisle paint shop at the Airbus Finkenwerder final assembly line (FAL) in Germany, MAAS launches OEM operations in Hamburg.2012

As part of its developing sustainability programme, MAAS launches a campaign to implement eco-friendly processes and systems, culminating with certification to the ISO 14001 standard for Environmental Management.2015

After winning a contract to design, build and operate a single-aisle paint shop at the Airbus Mobile final assembly line (FAL) in the United States, MAAS launches OEM operations in Mobile, painting the first US-built A321.2016

The company’s second OEM paint shop in Hamburg enters service, giving MAAS two single-aisle aircraft painting hangars at the Airbus Finkenwerder FAL and doubling production levels.2016

MAAS expands its footprint in the United States by building a twin-bay aircraft painting hangar at Brookley Field Mobile (BFM) in Alabama to support aftermarket re-finishing as an FAA approved Part 145 repair station.2017

The site at Maastricht Aachen Airport in the Netherlands is modernised and expanded, with a full system upgrade in the existing hangar, and the design and build of a second hangar on-site.2017

Building on a successful foundation of quality and efficiency, MAAS adds a 3rd OEM single-aisle aircraft painting hangar at the Airbus Finkenwerder FAL in Germany.2018

Founding member and Board Chairman Darragh Hall completes a successful transition of duties, retiring from aviation after establishing MAAS Aviation as a world-class aircraft painting company.2019
