Our CCO, Richard Marston, discusses sustainability practices in aircraft painting, in the recent issue of LARA.

Marston comments, “There’s been an awful lot of work done to make everything more sustainable. New coatings last much longer than they did. The base clear coat gives better protection to the actual colours, which now retain their qualities for up to 10 years – whereas previously, for example, blues would become chalky-looking in just three to four years.”

“We’ve built state-of-the art, purpose-built paint shops with underground sumps that collect all the used materials,” he adds.
