We are seeking a QHSE Officer to join our Kaunas team and lead the execution of robust QHSE System.
Job Summary:
The QHSE Officer will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving quality standards across our operations. This position is ideal for an experienced professional eager to further develop their career in quality management and regulatory compliance. The role includes leading initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with industry regulations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Periodic travel may be required. Your key area of responsibility will focus on quality reviews and controls in line with our Quality System, and handling all aspects of qualifications and audits. In addition, you will perform health and safety checks and conduct environmental assessments and drive improvement initiatives in our facility in Kaunas.
Key Highlights:
- Drive the development, implementation, and management of a world-class Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure full compliance with aviation regulations and company policies.
- Lead collaboration efforts with production teams, regulatory bodies, and clients to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.
- Initiate and oversee continuous improvement strategies to achieve operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Quality Operations
- Develop, implement, and manage the QMS aligned with aviation industry standards (ISO 9001, EN 9100) and customer requirements.
- Review Quality KPIs and perform quality surveillance checks.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of aircraft painting processes, addressing non-conformance issues with corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and ensure traceability of materials used in painting operations.
- Drive the preparation of work packages and administrative procedures.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Oversee all quality control aspects to ensure adherence to aviation regulations and Company policies.
- Lead compliance and quality assurance plans, promoting a culture of excellence and safety.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and clients to ensure successful audits.
3. Health and Safety Initiatives
- Execute health and safety programmes and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Address emerging health and safety challenges, fostering a culture of prevention and responsive management
- Maintenance and documentation of compliance activities, safety reports, and quality records.
4. Environment
- Ensure that the Kaunas sites adhere to all relevant environmental laws and regulations.
- Support initiatives to promote sustainable practices within MAAS Aviation, such as reducing our carbon footprint and minimising waste.
- Assess and mitigate the potential environmental impact of the organisation’s operations.
- Implement and maintain systems (e.g., ISO 14001) to effectively manage environmental responsibilities.
5. Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure surface preparation, priming, and painting meet top-quality standards.
- Train and support team members in quality protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Interpret engineering orders and drawings to ensure accuracy in painting processes.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Analyse operational data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor environmental and health & safety standards, ensuring compliance in painting operations.
- Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
1. Mandatory Experience and qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within an MRO or aviation.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, EN 9100, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Strong experience in process audits and implementation of improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and QMS software tools.
2. Skills and competencies
- Knowledge of Polish is advantageous.
- Experience within the field of ESG, with a strong focus on Environmental matters.
- Proven ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and lead teams effectively.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends or early shifts, based on aircraft delivery schedules.
