MAAS Aviation’s focus on quality delivers tangible results to customers

Dublin/Barcelona: 21 October 2024: Globally recognised experts in aircraft painting and exterior coatings, MAAS Aviation, has reported substantial increases to the longevity of paint finish in some of their customer programmes. This is attributed to the Company’s ongoing investment their people, processes and facilities, and has resulted in increased capacity across its European paint facilities.

Richard Marston, Chief Commercial Officer at MAAS, explains, “We have a number of long-term customers with annually recurring programmes, which enables us to really work as part of their broader team and get to know the intricacies of their fleets. We take the experience gained in these partnerships and apply it to all our customer projects, continually finetuning and refining our processes.

“For example, historically a narrowbody aircraft needs to be repainted every four to five years. But, using the latest technology paint products coupled with our high quality painting techniques and processes, we are seeing finishes that are still looking great and performing well seven and even eight years after being painted. So, for MAAS Aviation customers, the average length a paint scheme lasts is now between six to eight years.”

Now in its 40th year of trading, MAAS has witnessed many different trading environments during its history. Marston continues, “As recovery in the aviation industry continues and demand reaches – if not exceeds – pre-2020 levels, slot availability across all MROs is scarce. So MAAS is pleased to have increased capacity available to our customers and, for the first time in many years, be in a position to offer winter painting slots for the coming 2024-2025 season, albeit in limited numbers. This is a direct result of our investment in processes to extend painting intervals for our customers, coupled with the movement of programmes across our European facilities.”
